Course Structure
Our comprehensive training program combines two vital aspects of playground development: “Playground Design to Standards” and “Practical Access Course.” This training is designed to empower industry professionals to enhance the quality and accessibility of play spaces for all, including those with disabilities and access challenges.
Design to comply with Standards training sessions:
- Unlocking Creative Processes for Improved Playspace Design: In this session, we’ll unleash your creative potential to envision and create innovative play spaces that captivate the imagination and engage children of all abilities. Learn how to infuse play areas with inspiration and excitement.
- Applying Australian Standards and Good Practice: We’ll delve into the world of Australian Standards and best practices for play space design. You’ll gain a deep understanding of the regulations and guidelines that ensure safety, quality, and inclusivity in play spaces.
- Effective Maintenance Programs for Play Spaces: Maintenance is key to the longevity and safety of play spaces. Discover how to develop and operate maintenance programs that keep your play areas in top condition, ensuring they remain safe and enjoyable for all.
Accessible playgrounds training sessions:
- This practical access course is tailored for professionals with responsibilities in reviewing, planning, designing, managing, or maintaining parks and playgrounds. It’s also valuable for those providing guidance on accessibility issues within these environments.

There are no pre-requisites or pre-study required for this Playground Safety Training course. Discount is available for those who have CPSIA Certification. Please contact us to if additional assistance and adjustments (e.g., LLN assistance) is required.

Certified Playground Safety Inspector Australia (CPSIA) courses were developed by Expert Auditor and Trainer Ms. Lynnel Crockart who previously delivered these courses with PlayRight Australia for 20 years.
In Australia, no occupational licensing, legislative or certification requirements are known to apply to playground safety courses as of time of publication.

“Individuals performing tasks such as assessment, inspection, repair and maintenance of a playground shall be competent to perform the task that they are taking…
All playground inspections shall be performed by a competent person.
The post-installation and comprehensive inspections shall be performed by a person who has training and experience that enables them to perform a full conformity check to AS 4685 (series). Impact testing in accordance to AS 4422 requires the capability to operate specialized equipment and interpret the results. These inspections do not need to be carried out by the same person or organization.”
